Essence of Love

“Love is something eternal, the aspect may change, but not the essence. Perhaps it will seem to you that the sunshine is brighter and that everything has a new charm. At least, I believe this is always the result of a deep love, and it is a beautiful thing. And I believe people who think love prevents one from thinking clearly are wrong; for then one thinks very clearly and is more active than before. And love is something eternal – the aspect may change, but not the essence. There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and it was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and in that way, one is more fit for one’s work.”

The Radha-Krishna amour is a love legend of all times. It’s indeed hard to miss the many legends and paintings illustrating Krishna’s love affairs, of which the Radha-Krishna affair is the most memorable. Krishna’s relationship with Radha, his favorite among the ‘gopis’ (cow-herding maidens), has served as a model for male and female love in a variety of art forms. Krishna’s youthful dalliances with the ‘gopis’ are interpreted as symbolic of the loving interplay between God and the human soul. Radha’s utterly rapturous love for Krishna and their relationship is often interpreted as the quest for union with the divine.                  (Courtesy : Hinduism.about.com)

Be well informed about your job

28 June 2008 Anil m 1 comment

The following story shows how an opportunity came and also lost just because of lack of in depth knowledge of the job, a man is engaged. The story goes like this :

A priest was driving along and saw a nun on the side of the road, he stopped and offered her a lift which she gladly accepted.

She got in and Crossed her legs, forcing her gown to open and reveal a lovely leg.

The priest had a look and nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun looked at him and immediately said, “Father, remember psalm 129?”

The priest was flustered and apologized profusely.

He forced himself to remove his hand. However, he was unable to remove his eyes from her leg. Further on, while changing gear, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, “Father, remember psalm 129?”

Once again the priest apologized. “Sorry sister, but the mind is weak.”

Arriving at the convent, the nun got out, gave him a meaningful glance and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to retrieve a bible and looked up psalm 129.

It said, “Go forth and seek; further up, and you will find glory.”

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Always be well informed in your job, or you might miss great opportunities!

Dream Came true

Today an interesting incident happened. I do not know whether it is a sheer coincidence or it really happens.

Today early morning I dreamt about one of my colleague, Ashoke, who has been transferred to New Delhi two months back. He was very much reluctant to move to New Delhi from Kolkata. But finally moved. In my dream I saw that he has come to office and cleaning his table, usually what he used to do everyday while settling down in office before his transfer. I sat in front of him and asked about him and his family’s (who are still in Kolkata) well-beings and about his office at new station. His reply was all positive and he is more or less happy there. Then I said him that “I told you everything will be adjusted slowly with time”. Then I was awakened and the dream was ended there. I thought after going to office, I will call his family to know about him but later I forgot.

I just finished my afternoon tea. Suddenly, to my surprise, the same gentleman, whom I saw in my dream today early morning, entered into my cabin and sat in front of me. Oh my God, what a pleasant surprise. I remembered my dream and narrated the whole episode to him. I asked about him and his family and he replied with the similar wordings what he said in my dream.

Many people believe that morning dreams never lie. This is my first experience of such a dream which turned to be true on the same day.

Senseless Bundhs

Two days “Bundh” has been called by political parties (in West Bengal) on 5 and 6 Jun 2008, in protest of hike of the petro products prices by the Central Government. This senseless politics of Bundh is not much familiar outside India even out side this state. Bundh (strike) is known as a political, democratic weapon for protest in India. But this weapon has lost its sharpness due to frequent use of this by the political parties. Now public do not support this but they are forced to sit at home as the transport system run by the Government are withdrawn and private ones are forcefully made off the road. People of this state has seen enough of these senseless protests in the past and never has brought any solution to any problem.

The political parties/ leaders are elected by the people for good governance, development of the state and also for meaningful opposition. But Party leaders do not care for these, they think for their political gains only. Ruling party of this state supports the central Government, this means they support the price hike also. At the same time they called a Bundh in protest of the hike. What does it mean? I think it is nothing but double standard. Its India, every thing is fair in politics here. This political “drama” have been staged by political parties in the state just to show that they are with the public, they are concerned for price hike and thats why they are protesting center’s decision. The political leaders irrespective of political color should look at the above pictures and try to understand how the people are pressed into awefull conditions on the Bundh days.

Everything has got a limit. The public are frustrated, disgusted and want to express their protest against this senseless political “drama”. But they are helpless. We feel ashamed to say that we live in a state which is part of a developing country. In a developing country this can not be the work culture. Political people forced the entire workforce to sit at home for two consecutive days. Even this type of irresponsible political activity are not seen in other states in India. Political parties should note that public has no support to their such Bundhs, they want development and to compete with the outside world. This type of senseless activities ultimately tarnishes the image of the state and sends wrong messages to the outside world. In fact this type of political activities dampens the atmosphere of the industrialization and development of the state which has just started after 30 long years. We expect that political parties should now act in a responsible manner for the welfare of their own state and own people.

In a rainy day

IN A RAINY DAY

Its raining early morning in a summer day,

Sitting idle at home in the mood of a holiday.

In this cloudy rainy day, I am alone at home,

My mind thinking of you, it is in the roam.

Mind floating with the clouds, memories in queue,

Sitting alone, drowned in the memories of you.

My mind not with me, in these moments of dull,

My heart desires to unite, waiting for your call.

No sight of stopping, continues rain with wind,

Enjoying the fragrance of yours in my mind.

Thinking of you every moment having no limit,

When will you arrive, when shall we meet ?
