Another Nano reduced to ashes

Another Nano in flames. This time in Delhi, Aurobindo Marg.

Barely three months after Tata Motors certified the Nano “absolutely safe”, in a first in Delhi, a car went up in flames at a parking lot in Aurobindo Marg on Friday. The driver managed to get out on seeing sparks; in all of two minutes, only a charred frame remained.

The car, which belonged to a Supreme Court advocate, had just pulled into the parking lot around 11.30 am when driver Patrick John noticed sparks in the rear, where the engine is located. “I was waiting in the car, having just parked it, when sparks started coming out. Thankfully, I managed to leap out of the car in time. The car was destroyed in two minutes flat,” said John.
Two similar incidents were reported in Vadodara and Mumbai earlier this year following which Tata Motors launched an inquiry. In May, it said the accidents were due to unrelated reasons and that the car was safe.

Brand new Nano in flames

Nano, the India’s most ugliest and the world’s so called cheapest  car again in news. A brand new Nano caught fire within minutes of drive. The car was being driven by an employee of the dealer after delivery. Suddenly, there was smoke  coming from the car’s rear, where the Nano’s engine is housed. The driver slammed the brakes and the owner Mr. Sawant and those accompanying jumped out of the car, a wise move because within minutes the vehicle was engulfed in flames. As if it got immolated itself for unbearable insult due to its ugly look.

Now we thank Mamata Banerjee who made Tata to close the Nano factory near Kolkata and go elsewhere. We felt it that time. But after seeing Nano, the look and its quality, we now realise that we feel lucky for not being tagged with such a product. It is such a terrible ugly car. Now, with all these ‘reputation’ Tata wants to increase the price of Nano.

Tata wanted to give a car to scooterist  families so that in rainy season they don’t get drenched and reach safely to their destination. it was a noble idea no doubt but such quality of car  may not take them home safely instead they may be burnt on their way. Mr. Sawant and his wife were lucky enough to  save themselves by jumping out of the car in time.

Tata made the public crazy (though it is down now and it will be further down) by its cost of one lakh . But  public  should realise the consequences of cheaper items. Mr. Sawant purchased a LX model Nano which costed him 2+lakhs and it turned into ashes in minutes of driving. First of all people who are spending 2L why going for Nano ?  With this amount good second hand vehicles are available in the market which will be far far better than the Nano. There is no sense of going for a Nano. People should know that it is the most ugliest car ever manufactured in India.

Enough is enough

Enough is enough. People of Bengal are fade up of vote bank politics of some immature leaders. Their statement gives clear indication that they are not bothered if Tata goes from here. They just doing their best to turn a promising industry to another graveyard in Bengal.

As per media news, Tatas have decided to leave Singur. The decision is reported to have been made by the Tata management and the Bengal government has been informed. But Tatas are likely to make a public announcement next week unless something dramatic happens very soon which seems unlikely.

The West Bengal Government has shown signs of defeat. Nirpupam Sen, the Industries Minister of West Bengal on Tuesday acknowledged that the prospects of the Nano project in Singur are becoming bleaker by the day. And it seems Tata’s top brass has already taken that final call, sources say that an internal decision to shift out of Singur has already been cleared. So, there will be no turning back for Tata.

The Trinamul leaders are sticking to their demands hoping that their stubborn stand will pay dividends in rural Bengal in the forthcoming parliamentary election. Naturally what matters for them if Tata opts out of Singur and another graveyard is added to Bengal ?

This is politics but this time it may boomerang

The state of West Bengal is passing through a difficult times. All the developments and industrialization process may be at grinding halt due to some irresponsible movements by the few politicians. The state is always politically active but this movement is unprecedented and most damaging to the image of the state. The upcoming Nano factory at Singur has been closed before completion of its construction and the situation there has forced TATA to rethink about the project. Their workers were stopped and threatened and the most important NH2 was blocked for days. The damage what was inevitable due to the irresponsible movement of the political parties at Singur, has been successfully done by them. The movement for ‘land for land’ for the unwilling farmers itself is a unpractical demand. If this demand is met, then it will become a precedence for the future and no development in the state could be done. The mood of the agitating parties shows that they are not bothered for the development of the state, because they want to project themselves as the savior of the farmers, just for a narrow political mileage.

The industry-pro environment was created in the state by the present Chief Minister shri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and to turn “anti” to “pro” took few years. But the agitating parties and their irresponsible movement ruined pro environment in few days and it will not be surprised if the decade old ‘industrial draught’ condition comes back in the state, if TATA forced to withdraw his project from Singur. The indications are coming of similar nature, because during last few days, investors have shown their concern and apprehension and they are rethinking.

Inspite of all these how the agitating party can say that they too want industrialization in the state. Their words or wish (at least for Singur) are not matching with their activities. The package offered by the Government is very much attractive and there are still rooms for negotiations. But the agitating leaders have just rejected the package and they are sticking to ‘Land for land’ demand. It again shows that the leaders are aiming for their narrow gains only and not the interest of the farmers and the state. The agitating party should understand that their adamancy now goes against the interest of the poor farmer and this will boomerang on them and the resultant political mileage may be zero from this movement.
